Having fell off my bike and injured my wrist and foot I left it a week to see if it would recover, unfortunately it didn't and I had trouble walking and using my hand.
Gartnavel Hospital XRay department on their web site state they have a 'GP Walk In Service', a reasonable interpretation of this from someone who hasn't interacted with the health service would be you can walk in and see a GP (others who I have since questioned interpret this the same way).
Arrived, receptionist asked my name, told them and said I didn't have an appointment and was a walk in, they searched the computer and said I didn't have an appointment - bad start as it seemed obviously wasn't evening listening.
I was then informed I had to have a GP referral, which I responded that it said on their website it's a walk in clinic - the staff member on reception got a bit snooty and said no-one else had interpreted it that way and when I suggested they coukd change the website to clarify what they actually mean by GP Walk In Service, it was stated that they don't have to change anything.
All in all it was an extremely irritating encounter with and I found the staff member I talked to to be patronising.
"Not a walk in service after all"
