I've been a patient for 13 years at Unity Surgery and the reason I've stayed at this practice is because they deal with complex multiple health issues.
Face to face care has reduced since the pandemic and although telephone consultations work for straightforward discussions, I've always valued the interaction of a face-to-face consultation.
As a patient, it makes a huge difference to me personally. Today was no exception. My health issues include nocturnal epilepsy, acute spondylosis, arthritis, migraines and a urinary tract issue. Medications need fine tuning, therefore the surgery communication and the discussions with my GP and their pharmacist have become increasingly important.
I would strongly advocate that access to face-to-face appointments continue along with some telephone consultations as they are the best way to maintain my health and wellbeing and to keep me from deteriorating further. This is the best way for all patients.
Seeing someone isn't just about listening, it is also about really ‘seeing’ the person before you to determine a diagnosis.
Well done to my GP at Unity Surgery for your empathy and understanding. Your knowledge and experience is extensive. Other GP's, pharmacists, nurse practitioners and reception staff all work hard to maintain excellent care.
"Excellent Face to Face Care"
