I was ill overnight and realised something bad was happening. I was taken to Victoria Hospital, for an assessment then blue lighted to Ninewells. The Victoria was on the ball and had myself blue lighted to Ninewells, where I was thrombolysed.
I spent time in ICU, the care was amazing. I was then returned to ward 42 at the Victoria, again my care was great.
I was then lucky enough to get a bed at Letham Ward, Cameron Hospital. My rehab started pretty much as soon as I came in. My journey with rehab has been fruitful. Every member of staff has helped me with my rehab. The help I have received from both staff and management is amazing. I cannot put into words the help I have received. I have been treated so well.
I have bad days but my family, friends and staff helped bring me back up. The hospital chaplain was a great help, he pulled me out from a lot of bad feelings. I have met some amazing people who came and went on the ward. My family have also received a lot of help and reassurance.
My progress going forward has been positive. Everything has been explained to myself and my family about moving on. Physiotherapist and the occupational therapists on Letham ward have gotten me through hard days. Their help has been outstanding.
I have benefitted from all information that is displayed on the ward about stroke. Everything was positive in rehab.
