"PET scan staff reduced my anxiety and helped it go well"

About: Belfast City Hospital / Radiology

(as the patient),

Quite anxious about a PET scan to be had.

However staff in the nuclear medicine department in City Hospital Belfast were excellent. Treated me with great dignity, made sure my anxiety was quelled, gave me encouragement and were really friendly to boot. Great people which really reduced my anxiety and helped the scan go well.

Even though it was over one and a half hour process, the time flew. Thank you again.

Hello thank you for forwarding this nice message to us.

We strive to give our patients the best care possible and for PET/CT we offer a range of measures to improve anxiety. Firstly, our staff are very experienced in dealing with anxious patients/situations and patients are offered to be accompanied by a family member/friend, we also offer music in the scanner room and even the option for a mild sedative if required.
