My child injured his elbow and we had to visit Dr Gray's Hospital Emergency Department.
The department was extremely busy and there seemed to be just one doctor seeing all of the walk in patients. Despite this, Dr Richard was very friendly and professional throughout.
One thing that I noticed and really appreciated was that during my child's examination he obviously had to apply pressure to the injured area which unavoidably caused pain. Each time this happened he apologised to my son and immediately physically moved backwards and waited until he was ready to continue the examination. This made the whole process far less intimidating and stressful for my child, and was a very respectful way to behave. We need to see more of this in children's consultations! It obviously took a little more time to do and again, I appreciated the time taken to do this properly under pressure.
We then saw Lindsay the radiographer and again she took great care to make the process as friendly, gentle and stress free for my child as she could.
Huge thanks to the whole team.
