"Not listened to at steps2change"

About: Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust / Adult mental health

(as a service user),

I explained to my therapist at "steps2change" that I had a difficult and important decision to make, but because of my mental health issues was finding it impossible to navigate all of the factors involved and arrive at a decision that would be best outcome for me.

The therapist said: "Well, at least you have made the decision."

Sadly, you are not listened to.

My name is Claire Hancox and I am the Service Manager of steps2change – I am responding to your feedback as I am responsible for the talking therapies service that we provide across Lincolnshire.

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on the Care Opinion site. We take people’s feedback, both positive and negative, very seriously at steps2change as we want to do all we can to improve people’s experience.

I was very sorry to read that your experience left you feeling that you hadn’t been listened to, at a time when you were trying to make a difficult decision – this is the exact opposite of how we want people to feel when they are in treatment with us. I would like to hear more about what happened and explore what we could do to help – please contact me at claire.hancox1@nhs.net if you would like to discuss the issue further

Kind regards

Claire
