About: Haxby Group Hull

I started with this practice in 2012 it was a fantastic surgery. However lately lost all faith and confidence in them. Except for a couple of drs and health conditions and opening hours is the only reason I remain and which is a couple the positives.

Recently 3 experiences really knocked my confidence. One been a extradite letter taking 4 weeks to send which is too much time. Another experience is vitamin 12 been low side of normal or borderline over 5 years however when called always been told bloods ok. Got told beginning year take some oral prescription of vit b12 and repeat bloods in 3 months. Got blood test then got told via text that vitamin b12 tablets been ordered again as borderline 103 is not borderline that’s below range. Had no chance to respond to text or discuss concerns or say was still taking over counter supplements. Had to literally beg and cry at the reception desk saying what could be causing it and could I discuss this. Which luckily the reception staff on that day was lovely. The reason of the cause of this is why the extradite letter was done.

3rd thing happened this week been having allergic reaction to things asked for a review. As had a allergic reaction to sun on holiday and due to go away again soon. Got a message 28th July said will get a call within 8 weeks. Went in surgery and explained going away said will put me on list for review. Got response today Hello,

The GP has advised that the hospital referral is going to take many months and there is not much we can do/say. They have advised to take daily antihistamines. Haxby Group. So don’t know if referral been done. If they actually spoke to me would have realised that’s what I’m doing however when reaction more severe I need steroids and was needing this just encase react when on plane or holiday.

The bad about this practice at times things go missing, a couple gps want you in and out room asap. One problem at a time when various health problems can be linked. Some reception staff have poor attitude. Have seen patients wanting to speak to manger and say a manger is not in for me to walk past door and them to be on. Referrals taking a long time to get done.

There is good as previously mentioned. The late appointments and Saturdays. A couple of drs are great here. The acp I have seen have been fantastic. The nurses and Hca are good. I have had some good experiences with reception staff

I know covid has had some effect but some of these problems where there pre covid.
