"You are worth your weight in gold"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / 4 South Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department Craigavon Area Hospital / Pre-operative Assessment Craigavon Area Hospital / Theatres Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response

(as the patient),

Thank you so much to all of the paramedic, medical, surgical,  nursing and domestic staff in A&E and on 4 South who looked after me this week while in hospital.  From Louise and Jack in the ambulance,  to Dr Brian and nurse Una in A&E and on to the ward where I was so well looked after and wanted for nothing. The team including Shannon, Sarah x3 (forgive me I don't remember your surnames!), Kerry,  Emma,  and apologies if I don't mention everyone but you all kept me sane in what was a difficult week awaiting gallbladder surgery.

My family and especially my baby (to be breastfed)  were made to feel so welcome on every visit and assured that I was in the best place to be looked after while with suspected pancreatitis. Dr Yousef performed my surgery to which I am forever grateful,  thank you!  Aoife was amazing as my anesthesiologist,  she explained every step of the way what was to happen pre theatre and could tell I was nervous but put me at ease. Victoria and Rachel were also very reassuring on the morning of my surgery so thank you for this also. The team of surgeons that visited on rounds each morning kept me well informed of any scans,  results and options I had for next steps on getting me back on my feet.  They were respectful,  clear and explained everything as well as answering any and all questions I had.

My room was always fresh and clean and between fasting for scans and surgery the kitchen team kept me well fed, ensuring my dietary requirements were met (which wasn't easy being gluten, dairy and fat free for one reason or another!) As a staff collectively on 4 South you are worth your weight in gold and an absolute credit to CAH and SHSCT as a whole. THANK YOU ❤️😘
