"Impressed by the dedication and skill of the staff"

About: The Ulster Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a service user),

I was happy with the service. All the staff very welcoming and supportive. It is clear that the department is vey busy. 22 patients arrived in the hour after I arrived. Information clear. I was assessed by a nurse. I then had bloods and ecg. I was then assessed and medically reviewed by Dr Murray.

Dr Murray was very thorough on his history taking and assessment of my issues. He discussed my symptom with his Consultant and diagnosed my problem and provided medication as required. I was very impressed by the dedication and skill of the staff . I wondered if some of the work could be done in primary care to reduce the extreme pressure in the Ulster hospital ED.

Hi Brendaneo

Thank you for telling us about your experience while attending the Ulster ED. The department has been under extreme pressure recently. I will share with the staff your positive remarks, who will appreciate them.

As primary care is not under my remit I am unable to comment on what they could do to help relieve the pressure in ED.

Kind Regards

Jenny
