"I have been coming in and out of ambulatory care"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / Ambulatory Care - Medical Craigavon Area Hospital / Mandeville Unit

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I have been coming in and out of ambulatory care and have been having a very positive experience with staff each time. When I come in I am well looked after by Senior Charge Nurse and her excellent team of nurses.

I had several admissions to this unit due to needed chemotherapy. I was newly diagnosed with ovarian cancer and as you can imagine I was very apprehensive in my forthcoming chemotherapy as that’s when reality hits you having to complete the chemo.

Staff have been very supportive in my journey and have been explaining all what needs to happen and are always opened for question (I ask A LOT of questions). Every time I have come in I have been well attended too and never have to wait for pain relief. Help is always very forthcoming.

The staff are all very professional, kind and caring. They have made me feel more at ease with their friendly and caring manner. The senior nurse in charge leads an excellent team of staff.

I thank each and every one of the staff for the way in which they managed my care. A great team managed by an excellent leader.
