"A dream coming true"

I am a Ukrainian refugee who had to flee the country because of the war. As I arrived here, I realized it's hard to find a job in my sector (education) because my Ukrainian degree is not recognized here and I need to do a special course to be able continue teaching.

This is when I came across South Yorkshire Housing Association. I met Jill, and she kindly offered to help me. Not only did she support and motivate me to do things to overcome my traumatic experience, she also managed to get the funding towards CELTA - a certificate which will enable me to get the necessary qualifications to work as a teacher here. I wouldn't have been able to pay for it myself!

Jill also helped me to update my CV to increase my chances of getting a job. She contacted numerous people and organisations making enquiries about possible jobs for me (in education), made time to talk about my mental wellbeing, etc.

She is truly an angel! She helped me regain confidence and gave me hope. It's an absolutely fantastic experience. I can finally fulfil my dreams and move forward. Thank You!
