I was in terrible pain after CABG x 4 and was offered diclofenac, via the route where you don't have to swallow! A somewhat embarrassing option so I started making suggestions, light a candle, maybe dinner first, does this mean we're engaged? The two nurses Ewelina and Jackie appreciated the lightened mood and Ewelina commented that she'd needed that, I think meaning a release from the tension from constantly working at capacity and beyond, providing the finest of care.
Ewelina is helping Jackie to become another brilliant, dedicated nurse. Both helped me with everything I needed when I was at my lowest ebb, Jackie built me up. Both are multi-lingual with Jackie speaking 8 languages! Is that even possible? So what I feel is this absolute power duo should be recognized for their professional brilliance and dedication. I personally witnessed both speaking to non-English speakers to improve their quality of care. So come on NHS let's celebrate this success, not over work staff, and let's celebrate their brilliance when we can!
