Had informed staff I am wheat intolerant and don't eat dairy. Had asked for suitable foods. Was told there were no gluten-free options and if I wanted soya milk I should go to the shops and buy it
I was feeling extremely nauseous and hadn't eaten or drank properly for sometime.
Was then told I should be at home not taking up a bed.very disparaging attitude. Did over hear staff talking about how difficult I was. Not at all professional,or person centred,
Only a few staff who were at all caring, compassionate or professional.
Felt very weak and difficult to do anything ,due to not being able to eat and then not having anything I could eat without it increasing gastric pain.
A previous story on here had a response saying information re different menus/diets were to be provided to wards. Maybe the next stage should be a clear set of instructions for staff to follow.
