All my appointments were on time and all the staff were excellent, efficient, friendly and helpful.
I had 3 appointments for X-ray and consultation on a fractured fibula. First appointment in May 2022, follow up appointment in June 2022 and final appointment in August 2022.
My concern is that I saw a different consultant for each appointment. Although each subsequent consultant could read the notes and see the X-rays, I would have thought it preferable to have the same consultant who would have followed the treatment from beginning to end. This would, I’m sure, be better for the consultant who would have the satisfaction of seeing their work progressing, building a relationship with the patient and the eventual positive outcome. It would certainly be better for the patient who would have the confidence that a consultant was following the progress of the treatment, had sufficient knowledge of the malady and could also build a mutually beneficial relationship.
Frankly, in my opinion, I receive a more consistent and personal service when I take my dog to the vet, visit a hairdresser or shop at my local store. Surely this cannot be a good way of approaching something as important as health care?
