"Poor hospital treatment and planning"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / General surgery

(as the patient),

Well where do I start....

Some staff in the Surgical Assessment lounge I found to be rude and they didn't take my concerns when I was in pain seriously.

I was told I was a cry baby and ignored when in serious pain.

That aside,  bad management on the ward left us to get our own water (I was bed bound and struggled to walk unaided)

Delays by doctors making a treatment plan meant overall I lost two weeks from delays in getting a MRI and seeing a rheumatologist.

I was given antibiotics. The doctors confirmed there was no infection but they still continued to give medicine that was not required.

I come out in a rash from the antibiotics and asked for cream to help.  It took them three weeks to action that request so I was left in pain and itching.

During the time the heat in the ward was 30+ day and night for days with no fans provided or air cooler devices.

If someone on the ward/bay had Covid they tested them but then didn't even tell anyone or put a mask on the person with the positive tests or even say everyone in bay must wear a mask. They waited several hours before even moving them out but they were free to spread the disease

All in all I was discharged and am no better then when I walked in.

I still have swollen joints and am unable to walk and am now just sat in pain daily waiting for an outpatient appointment - I have no idea when that will be.

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your recent admission, please except my sincere apologise that the level of care did not meet your expectations. I have feedback to the ward area and discussed with individual members of the team involved in your care and treatment.

Following our discussion on the ward, I implemented immediate actions which you were aware of, however if you feel you would like to dicuss further please feel free to email me on Jason.Green@ulh.nhs.uk
