"I felt I was in good hands"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Day Surgery

(as a service user),

I'm not normally the type to carry out reviews but on this occasion I felt I must.

I was referred to Dr Thorton for an operation to remove a tumor in my bowel.  I instantly took to her as she was very accommodating, taking the time to explain my options and the relative associated risks. I felt I was in good hands from the start.

Dr Thornton successfully carried out my procedure and took the time to check in on me contacting me at home to ensure I was doing as well as I could have.

A true professional and one of a kind who the NHS are extremely lucky to have, as is her future patients.

Dear DM555

Thanks for taking the time to provide such positive feedback on you visit to the Day Surgery Unit in our University Hospital Wishaw.

Dr Thorton and her team work very hard to ensure they support all people attending the Unit and provide the best care possible; it truly is a team effort.

It will be my pleasure to share your kind words with the team, it means a lot when people such as yourself take the time to recognise their professionalism, care and compassion.

Best wishes with any ongoing treatment and management of your condition.

Kind regards

Jean
