"Endoscopy Experience"

About: Lincoln County Hospital / Endoscopy United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust

(as the patient),

I was offered sedation for the procedure. I explained that I didn’t feel like the catheter was in correctly. But we went ahead. After the drugs were pushed through the catheter I waited for it to take affect, but nothing happened. I tried to explain but they’d already put the mouth piece in. I felt the camera go all the way down as I choked and gagged. It felt horrific. I wasn’t sleepy or drowsy at all.
