"Felt safe and cared for in labour and postnatal ward"

About: Maternity care / Ward 46 (post-natal) Maternity care / Ward 48 (labour ward)

(as a service user),

I went into Altnagelvin to have my first baby one early morning in July 2022.

I cannot thank the midwives enough for their care and skill in looking after me. The compassion and expertise they showed me and my partner was so appreciated and I felt so safe and looked after.

There were many midwives involved in my labour, however a special thanks to Lisa and Catherine who were with me throughout.

Hi Aimfm93,

Congratulations on the birth of your baby, I hope you are enjoying these tiring but blissful early days.

Thank you so much for your feedback, we very much appreciate it.

We have a great team of midwives in our maternity department and it is great to get their hard work recognised with such lovely comments. I will be sure to share with the team, particularly Lisa and Catherine.

Kindest regards,

Shonagh Clifford

Delivery Suite manager

Thank you so much for the positive feedback, it is always reassuring for staff to hear how they can make a difference in a woman's journey of childbirth and transition to parenthood. I will be sure to forward your thanks onto the Postnatal team. From the Postnatal team we wish you and your family all the very best.
