My mum is currently in Ninewells ward 2 and I cannot have asked for better support for her or me. The staff are kind, compassionate and caring. They treat my mum with no judgement and in a person centred way.
This is a very difficult time for me as a daughter with the prognosis my mum has but the staff have only showed me kindness and emotional support for me.
Barry the charge nurse could see how upset I was regarding my mum and was able to move her into a side room with no hesitation and without me even asking.
There are so many staff on the ward that go above and beyond. I don’t know all their names, I wish I did as they deserve it.

The HCSW who sat with me and showed empathy and kindness and accompanied mum to a CT scan.
The 2 HCSW that moved mum to the side room (thank you for making me laugh and asking if I was ok)
I’m sure as our time in the ward continues I will meet more amazing staff. I hope the senior leadership team see this and give some recognition to the ward and these individuals. The ward is busy but everyone makes time to provide excellent patient care and support to families.
