"My dads hospital admission"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / 2 North Respiratory medicine Craigavon Area Hospital / Emergency Department

(as a relative),

My dad was sent to ED after a fall, and we were very apprehensive about him being in hospital at all given the current restrictions etc but we couldn’t have been anymore wrong. I can’t start to name members of staff, as I don’t want to leave any out, but the care and attention my dad got was second to none in ED, from medics, to nursing, to ahp and domestic staff. The communication with me regarding all aspects of his care was unbelievable. I was kept up to date on everything, with at less than a few calls a day. He then was transferred to 2North Respiratory, and the same standard of care and communication followed. Multiple updates a day from medics and nursing staff, again I cannot name specific people for fear of leaving people out. The nursing staff went far beyond their call of duty multiple times (even late at night) when my dad was feeling down to FaceTime me to cheer him up, or to arrange me to visit, as he had been very ill in the first few days. I instantly had an invite to get FIT tested in case the worse happened. My family and I cannot thank you all enough, and no amount of words will ever truly describe how positive (in a bad situation!) our experience was from ED to 2N Resp. Thank you all so so much ☺️
