"Positive experience of clinics and classes"

About: Promoting Well Being / Parenting Support and Early Intervention Programmes

(as a service user),

After a horrible antenatal appointment in ACH I requested to be referred to the 'Getting ready for Baby clinic'. I went to my first clinic with Carly the midwife and a nursing assistant who I forget the name of but I felt tired at this appointment. I was in my second trimester of my pregnant and feeling very overwhelmed and tired. Carly and the nursing assistant sat and talked to me about my concerns. They offered me helpful information and related to my experience. Carly let me listen to the babies heart beat and record it. Carly encouraged me to speak to my husband about how I was feeling. She referred me mellow bumps. I haven't looked back. I then went to my second appointment and was encouraged to sign up to the getting ready for baby classes (which I cannot recommend more) and advised it was infant mental health week coming up and to sign up to the classes there. I did so and I feel the education I have received has been so empowering. Loved attending the Getting Ready for Baby clinic and classes. Thank you
