I have suffered an injury to my leg 5 Months before being admitted for my operation. I went to my doctor about a severe pain I was having in my leg he then referred me to the minor injuries/fracture clinic in Craigavon Area Hospital. When I came in to see the consultant I was left in the room waiting for over 2 hours on my appointment it wasn’t an ideal wait time but they did apologise for the wait and told me that it was extremely busy. They weren’t 100% sure what was causing my injury so I needed an ultra sound scan. After the long wait, I was told it was too late in the day for an ultra sound scan. I had been walking in the boot without any protection and one of the nurses notice this and asked then provided me a sock to put on my foot which I thought was a very nice gesture for her to do. After eventually having my scan a couple of days later, the Dr show so much professionalism when speaking to me and acted quick as he said that I would need to go into surgery asap on my leg. So they arranged a day for me come in and have the surgery, I came in Friday but my operation has been rescheduled to tomorrow I wasn’t annoyed about this as they did inform me of this change and the staff on this ward(Orthopaedic) have been all so friendly and helpful. My bed is comfortable which I was delighted about because at times some hospital beds can be really uncomfortable. The food on ward has also been great as well with the cleanliness of my room cleaners are always on the floor and change the bed regularly!
