"Looked after"

About: Causeway Hospital / Coronary Care/Medical Monitoring Unit

(as a service user),

I was in A & E with heart palpitations, heart out of sync. I was transferred from A & E to NAU medical ward and saw a cardiologist and had to get shock treatment for heart to go back into rhythm. That's a anxious time, glad that I was put to sleep before treatment not like before in coronary care when I was given shock treatment before  sleep. That made me jump and then I slept. maybe there's a reason for doing it that way.

Nurses and doctors on the  NAU medical ward work so hard, never stop and are still kind to  difficult patients.  Some nurses are not getting proper breaks. If you're on that ward you will be looked after.

Thank you.

Hi Boat,

I am Nicky Butcher, assistant clinical services manager at Causeway Hospital.

I am sorry to hear that you havent been well, and am sure it has been a worrying time.

I am delighted to hear your comments about staff in MAU, and will ensure that I pass it on to them. I am glad that you felt looked after.

Am wishing you a speedy recovery,

Much appreciated.
