"Plastic Surgery Out-patient's Department- great nurse"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Outpatients Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Plastic Surgery & Burns (wards 45, 47, 48 & 49)

(as a relative),

My husband recently underwent extensive surgery due to an infection and was hospitalised for over six weeks.  He attended the Plastic Surgery out-patient's department at the GRI and was attended to by Nurse, Margaret.  Margaret is a credit to the team there.  She treated my husband with respect and compassion and clearly was skilled in her role.  She arranged follow up appointments to ensure they coincided with other planned visits to other specialties.

Thanks to Margaret for her skill, manner and person-centred care.  People like her make what has been an awful experience overall so much more bearable.  I hope Margaret gets to see this post as such feedback is hugely important for staff to see.

Thanks for your response Jackie.

In addition to the above which is specific to Margaret within your Out-Patients Dept, I would like to commend ALL staff within Ward 48. My husband was transferred from Urology at the QUEH and spent just over two weeks on Ward 48 at the GRI recently. He underwent reconstructive surgery and skin grafts. The staff there were outstanding. It was evident that they worked as a team and all provided excellent person-centred care. This was reassuring for us as a concerned family.

Thank you and well done to each and every staff member on Ward 48.
