"I chopped the tip of my finger off"

About: Arbroath Infirmary / Minor Injuries

(as the patient),

I chopped the tip of my finger off and went to minor accident and emergency. I was bleeding bad and got told to come back in 45mins. I was in a lot of pain but nurses were great. My second visit, the nurses bandage came off in the car on my way to work.

Dear sextansdf69

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on care opinion regarding your recent visit to the Minor Injuries and Illness unit (MIIU) in Arbroath. We appreciate this feedback as it helps us to know what went well and what areas need improvement.

I'm sorry to hear you cut your finger and were in pain. Thankfully you didn't have to wait too long to be seen and its very reassuring to know that the nurses were great. I will pass on this feedback to them. The way we access urgent care has changed and patients are now asked to contact NHS 24 in the first instance for non life threatening injuries or illness. This is to ensure that you are seen by the right person at the right time and to avoid long waits in waiting areas which can be overcrowded.

I hope your finger wound has now healed and the pain has resolved.

Take care

Anne
