"It’s the very small things that can make such a difference"

About: NHS Ayrshire & Arran / South West Scotland Breast Screening Centre

(as the patient),

Turning 50 meant I was sent an appointment for breast screening. Although I am an NHS worker I was still apprehensive about having the procedure for a number of different reasons.

However, my experience was very very positive. First of all to be greeted with a nice smile on entering reception and been advised where to go and wait was lovely. Other appointments I have attended I have not always had that welcome and trust me it makes a big difference. I didn’t wait long before being taken into a room and the radiographer completely put me at ease. She was so professional and patient and I never ever felt rushed. Before I knew it the procedure was done.

It’s the very small things that can make such a difference to someone’s experience. I just wanted to thank them so much for the excellent service.
