"Amazing Staff"

About: Royal Bolton Hospital

My husband arrived at a&e with severe abdominal pain, we would just like to say a huge thank you to all those staff who worked so tirelessly to provide fantastic care and dedication to him in ensuring that despite the long wait ahead his pain was addressed immediately with pain relief and although that didn't eliviate the pain and despite the department being extremely busy, the senior nurse went out of her way to find another solution. Nothing was too much trouble despite the severe pressure they seemed to be under. we were so thankful for the offer of a brew from the healthcare assistant especially as they were working so hard in the back it was a much welcomed offer. Each member of staff was so polite, helpful and compassionate a true example of their profession, yes we had to wait a while to be triaged and yes a further 7 hrs to see a dr exhausting but not as exhausting as listening to all the ungrateful moaners complaining nurses didn't care as they were too busy talking or saying they'd die quicker than they would being seen, but as i watched those who had arrived to a&e half of them were there to warm seats if they can be all over each other loved up and snogging in corner they are definitely not ill enough to be in an a&e department, this left the clowns who had been in fights an ex con doing inappropriate acts and behaviour at reception desk police resources wasted on individuals who were incapable of looking after themselves is it any wonder why we have waiting times of 7 hours!! we would like to thank the sister nurses drs reception staff and security staff for remaining professional at all times as i am sure they would really like to give a few home truths as they listen to the complaing individuals from behind the curtains that have rocked up without any given thought to is it really necessary to attend a&e you all should know that there are some very grateful people that do see how busy you are in the back and really appreciate all you do especially with limited staff and having to deal with individuals too drunk to give any details and those who are so used to being in the department they strut around the department and know exactly where the plug sockets are to charge their phones! thank you to each and everyone of the team for your relentless professionalism and dedication despite the negative comments that others make when you are all doing a fantastic job.
