"St Bart's Fertility Department Review "

About: St Bartholomew's Hospital

I've been treated at the Fertility Department at St Bart's in the past two years and it felt like my needs were their lowest priority.

They disregarded previous treatments or examinations. I nearly ended up hyper stimulated because they gave me double the amount I had in a previous clinic abroad, to which my body responded well. They had all this info, but clearly they didn't review it. I had to explain over and over again and send via email all the details about two previous transfers that I had. Over and over, and every time the practitioners were asking me the exact same questions, hearing the details for the very first time. I've done examinations requested by them, to only receive a call in a few months and the person who called me suggested to me that I do the exact same examinations. They just didn't bother spending 5 minutes before calling me to check my file. They wasted so much of my time and I cannot say anything positive about my experience, because I just felt neglected. The last drop was that I went to have a transfer there and I was left to wait in the staff cloak room because they had no space. In such sensitive and delicate moment, a bit of a human and professional approach would have been appreciated. This was a self funded transfer, not on the NHS. I know that these are challenging times for hospitals that are part of the NHS, but no patient should be ever treated in such way.
