"I found the staff to be rude"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Pre-Operative Assessment

(as the patient),

I found some of the HCSW to be rude and a bit rough with me when doing the PCR covid test for pre op assessment. I had informed the staff that I had covid 9 weeks ago and technically should not have been tested for it as we are adrived we should not get PCR test for 90 days after originally getting covid infection. Why they did not read my notes, as I had informed them of that when I went for the pre op assessment at Gartnavel. But surprisingly I got the phone call the day before surgery making out I was covid positive. The charge nurse had me in tears as trying to explain my circumstances and wouldn’t listen. This is the second time I’ve had issues with this department and under no circumstances I’m willing to go back there again.

Dear falconph64

I am sorry about your experience at the Pre-operative Assessment Unit and for the upset and distress this caused you. This is certainly not the standard of care we strive to deliver. Please be assured that this will be shared with the Senior Team and discussed with the staff.

Please accept my apologies.

Thank you

Nicole
