"Walk in centre and A&E should be separate services..."

Thank you for your comments and for taking the time to express your concerns regarding the integration of Tooting Walk-in Centre into St George’s A&E department. We are very sorry to learn of your long wait in A&E. From 27th May to 7th December 2011 a formal public consultation entitled ‘Improving Health in South Wandsworth’ took place. The outcome was full public support for changing the model of emergency care at St George’s Hospital, which will improve patient experience by delivering treatment in the most appropriate place. As part of these proposals, the minors section and the Tooting Walk-in Centre moved into newly refurbished accommodation in the A&E department, where treatment continues for less serious illnesses and injuries which require immediate care, but not the full services of an A&E.
