"Stomach issues and mental health"

About: Victoria Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as a service user),

I took medication in May 2022 for a chest infection.

My stomach has burned, cramped and I've generally felt unwell since.

All I am offered is PPI medication which makes no difference. Referral to gastroenterology was rejected due to me not tolerating endoscopy previously,  despite the fact the consultant said back then that I could try it a different way.

This has all had a negative impact on my mental health

Dear nitratezw89,

I have reviewed your patient feedback on Care Opinion, thank you.

If you were happy to make contact with my secretary Sue Colebatch on 01592 643355 and provide your details, I will arrange for one of the relevant gastro clinicians to review your referral and previous history. We will then arrange a follow up phone call so this can be discussed further with you.

I hope we will be able to help but certainly in the first instance we can look into this further.

Regards Arlene
