"Basal cell operation and little scarring"

About: Royal Cornwall Hospital (Treliske) / Dermatology

(as the patient),

I was expecting a significant scar after receiving an operation on my face for the removal of a basal cell carcinoma.

I looked like I had been in a war zone. My face was battered and bruised, as I was told to expect.

What I didn't expect was the amazing recovery.

Once the swelling and bruising died down after a little while I could not believe that there was no trace of an operation or a scar.

Dr. Anderson was amazing !

I can only thank and admire Dr. Anderson at Treliske  Hospital, and his team for the wonderful care I received WITH NO TRACE OF THE EXPECTED SCARRING TO MY FACE

Thank you SO much.

Hello matarpb88

Thank you for getting in touch we really do appreciate your feedback.

It can be very scary having surgery and not really knowing the end result for a few weeks and no amount of reassurance will ever beat that personal experience of seeing a wound all healed and the satisfaction of all going as planned.

I agree we have some of the best surgeons working in Dermatology but then I am also a dermatology nurse lol.

Keep up the good work and massage the area to keep it looking good. It's with your amazing dedication to follow the instructions that have completed the treatment cycle.

We wish you well
