"When do we get the help"

About: Children & younger people's services / Gedling Healthy Family Team

(as a service user),

My daughter was referred in September 2021 due to her high levels of anxiety due to being bullied and harassed. Her anxiety levels have continued and she is now extremely anxious about her body after being called fat and is developing body dysmorphia issues. Originally we were told by school that a referral was being completed in May/June 2021.

Now nearly 10 months later, after chasing school several times, as I had heard nothing, I have received a letter about the referral dated June 2022! but that she doesn't reach the criteria and have been given a list of self help services.

We have already done all of these, which is why a referral was completed. She does not identify with a screen or over the phone, and speaking to me hasn't worked. When do we get the help, now before an eating disorder develops or when she needs admitting!

Dear Crossmum69,

Firstly I am so sorry to hear that your daughter is having such a difficult time and your experience of our service has fallen below your expectations. I would really like the opportunity to discuss this with you in more detail so we can understand why this has been the case and next steps for your daughter. If you would like to call me on 07850918871 at your earliest convenience.

I look forward to speaking with you.

Kind regards

Sherrel
