"Care was second to none"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Acute Receiving Unit (Units 1-5) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Breathing and lung problems (Respiratory Wards 7a, 7b, 7c & 7d) Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Cardiology (Heart Conditions) Wards 6c & 6d Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Specialist Assessment & Treatment Area (SATA)

(as a service user),

I was transferred to QEUH with a suspected blood clot on my lung.

I was assessed in SATA and quickly transferred to ARU 2.

All the staff were very kind and helpful. Although the ward was very busy at all times the staff were always on hand if I required anything. Nothing was too much trouble for them.

The cardiology nurses were also very kind and helpful.

Throughout my short stay there my care was second to none.

Special thanks to Will and Marc and all the nightshift staff too.

Thanks also to the SATA staff for their prompt care on my arrival.

Dear DJC 65

Thank you for taking the time to leave such wonderful feedback in regards to your experience of using the Acute Receiving Unit, SATA, Respiratory & Cardiology Department's of the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.

I was sorry to hear of your admission to hospital after you suspected a blood clot on your lung. Firstly I'm glad this was picked up quickly and the staff acted swiftly and efficiently to prevent any further damage or anxiety for you.

It was great to hear how all the staff you encountered throughout your stay were helpful, thoughtful and above all put your mind at ease in what must have been a really difficult time for you and your family.

I will be delighted to pass on your thanks to all the staff involved who I'm sure will be touched to hear your comments.

Kind regards

Kevin
