I came to A&E with a suspected dislocated shoulder and was expecting to be there for the day, this opinion was due to the horror stories you see in the news due to the NHS' despicable treatment by the government.
After waiting just 5 minutes after registering at the reception I was seen by a nurse in triage.
I was then sent for an x-ray and was seen after 10 minutes.
I then waited another 5 minutes to have my consultation with the doctor who, after consulting with a colleague, confirmed that my shoulder was dislocated.
I was then taken to a side room to attempt to relocate the shoulder, after being given gas & air and going through excruciating agony (not the doctor's fault but due to the dislocation) as he tried to put it back in it was decided that I would need to have a general anaesthetic.
This was done quickly and my shoulder was put back in.
Considering that I was mentally prepared to be at the hospital all day, I arrived at 9am and was discharged at 2pm.
I can not thank everyone who helped me enough, from the reception team who signed me in to the doctor who worked tirelessly to get my shoulder back in.
I would especially like to thank the nurse who decided to ironically serenade me with "lay your head on my shoulder" you really helped ease my concern.
You are all a massive credit to the NHS and your families should be extremely proud of the work you do.
"Amazing Care"
