"Poor treatment of my mother"

About: Alexandra Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as a relative),

My mother who is elderly & blind recently was at the Alexandra Redditch from for three weeks on ward 16.

While there I experienced her not being clean for over a hour after she messed the bed with diarrhoea.

They gave here a blood transfusion but missed the vein & filled her arm with blood meaning she needed her wedding ring cut off. She was transferred to Evesham Hospital without her ring, necklace, transfer papers, walking stick or lifeline (very important being blind).

Some people hate the thought of going to this hospital & I can see why.

The ward staff are very saddened to hear about the concerns that have been raised about your mother’s care. I (ward manager) or the Matron for Trauma and Orthopaedics would be happy to discuss this further.

If you would like to get in touch by phoning 01527 512104 we will be happy to help.

Many Thanks

Dan Marshall

Ward 16 Manager
