"Experience at the breast clinic"

About: NHS Tayside / East Scotland Breast Screening Centre

(as the patient),

Spent an hour and a half travelling to Ninewells for a breast ultrasound. I was referred by my GP.

My appointment was for 9:55am but wasn't taken until 11:25 am approx. I was unaware that I would see a doctor and because my mammogram was fine they wanted to leave it at that. I thought it was best to have an ultrasound so waited way over my appointment time.

The ultrasound was very quick and only did one side of the breast by a trainee. Must admit there didn't seem to be a lot of "care" there. Not a pleasant experience.

As per usual, the nurses and other staff were lovely.

Dear Ariel

I am very sorry that you experience did not meet up with your expectations. the breast service offer a one stop appointment for those with suspected cancer as well as other breast conditions. The service is set up so that patients can get all the diagnostics completed in one visit rather than several and worried an anxious patients leaving knowing if they have anything to be concerned about. this often means that time in the department can be long
