I have suffered with neuralgia for approximately 11 years. Medication didn't help. Mr. Bodkin took me under his wing along with Dr. Duncan, who suggested surgery. Unfortunately the surgery could not happen because of heart problems. I was then referred to Miss. Dhillon from the maxillofacial unit.
Through the several months of various appointments it was then decided that Miss. Dhillon would operate on the nerve in my face. I have spoken to Dr. Duncan and Miss. Dhillon and they came up with a plan to help me in the future.
I have nothing but respect and gratitude for Mr. Bodkin, Dr. Duncan and Miss. Dhillon. One of Miss. Dhillon's assistants showed great compassion while I was in hospital. It was my wife and I's anniversary and she, without hesitation, went and bought an anniversary card for me to give my wife. This brought tears to my eyes that someone could be so considerate.
Over the next few months I will still be attending various clinics but in the meantime I have been pain free since attending Foresterhill Hospital, which is something I've not experienced for years.
