About: Purfleet Care Centre

Due to having to pass 2 schools and Railway gates being closed I drove into the Surgery Car park at 08.44. Having then struggled with very heavy doors as your push button is not working, waited for the receptionist who has clearly failed charm school, to finish with a patient in front of me and then waited for the Nurse,10 minutes had passed since my scheduled appointment time of 08.40, To then be told that this would have to be rescheduled due to my being late I find totally unbelievable. Hands up all those who have not waited more than 10 minutes after their appointed time to see the Dr. Ok Hands down you're blotting out the Sun. My blood pressure which is what was being checked is extremely high,165 over 125 and above is not unknown for me, I am self employed and this is my busiest time of the year if I do not make money now I won't survive the winter so currently my working day is around12-15 hours, my Dad is in Hospital and I've just lost a much loved pet, I took time from work to get to the Drs this morning. But clearly Dr.s and Dr.s employees are so busy and self important that we the ordinary people whose health problems keep you all employed don't actually matter. Unknown to me my appointment was also for a blood test as the medication I take can apparently seriously damage my Liver/Kidneys, which I do know.

I am told I have to treat my condition seriously and I try to, but wouldn't it be lovely if your Health Professionals were exactly that and treated people with the same respect they demand and expect from patients.

Frankly the only people that want to be at the Surgery are the employees, the rest of us have issues and things going on in life that are the reason we are there. Had anyone been waiting for the nurse that was booked in after my time I really would not have minded had they gone in before me, in fact believe that would be totally reasonable, what is not reasonable is that you fully expect patients to be understanding of the Dr.s or Nurse running late and by a lot more than 10 minutes, that they're all very busy etc. etc. etc. but your Dr.s and Nurses cannot be understanding in return, then instead of dismissing me like an errant schoolchild actually just said "as you're a bit late can we just do 1 procedure today so I don't run behind and rebook you for the other" all nice and calm and reasonable, but no after failing to consider the stresses a patient might be under and had the Nurse actually read my notes she would have realised I probably did need to be seen and be checked, your Nurse decides and not privately but in the waiting area to push my blood pressure already in the red zone to stroke level. Still at least this time it was I, that was late and not the Nurse by an hour and a half and the procedure was not of a more intimate nature and thankfully not being broadcast and openly discussed by the receptionists.

Why is it I don't like going to the Drs.
