"Keep up the tremendous work"

About: Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / General Surgery Aberdeen Royal Infirmary / Surgical HDU NHS Grampian

(as a relative),

Ward 217 - Special mention to Mr Millburn, Lynn & Becky & Dr Kirsty.

Ward 206 - Special mention to Gemma, Student Nurses Emily, Martin and Kieran.

We had just moved to Grampian 6 weeks prior to my husband being admitted and, as a person used to another health board, may I commend your staff, from the paramedics who brought him in to the above mentioned ward staff/medics. Even when busy, and no doubt harrassed, staff are able to be attentive, tuned in to what I needed, helpful, friendly and can laugh. Joined up communication between different specialties & wards is also crucial, and I was impressed by this (as often this is not the case). Keep up the tremendous work. Another plus was that they didn't discharge my husband too quickly.

One suggestion: In this day and age the NHS should be joined up. I was so surprised that Grampian was unable to access my husbands (prolific) information from Forth Valley.

Someone needs to regularly litter pick the grounds & multi-storey car park. Used masks everywhere. (I think they do actually).

Dear andersones

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your first experience in another health board. I am glad to hear that staff were attentive and friendly.

I will share your feedback with the team, it will mean a lot to them to be recognised for their hard work.

Thanks again for acknowledging the team and I hope that your husband is feeling better and making a good recovery.

Kind Regards

Fiona Carnegie

Dear Andersones

Thank you for your feedback relating to Ward 217 Surgical HDU. I have shared it with the team and they are delighted to have made your stay as pleasant as possible.

I am pleased to hear that your first experience within NHS Grampian has been a positive one with good joined up communication between wards and departments during your stay, it's lovely to hear.

I hope your husband is making a steady recovery and you both manage to enjoy some of the summer doing something fun.

Many Thanks

Jane Taylor
