"The amazing care and support given to myself and my husband whilst having palliative care at home"

About: Community Nursing Services / Nottingham West Community Nursing Community Nursing Services / Nottingham West End of Life Co-ordinator

(as a carer),

In the first instance we were given a District nurse who came to assess our situation and see what our needs where. We were given numbers to use in the day or night to contact someone for support. As my husbands health deteriorated we had visits at home by the dr and district nurse and her team of angels who constantly assured us that nothing was too much trouble and if didn’t matter what the time was someone was always there, and in truth when I did need to ring and I had to on several occasions they were quick to arrive with medication and support. Helping me to swap chemists as the one I used was failing in there care and unable to get medicine or even be open when they were supposed to be. I can’t fault the care given to my husband and myself and this continues with the nurses still popping by to check I’m ok. These lovely ladies work so hard to care and support us all and although they didn’t have to come for long as death was quicker than we expected everyone of them went above and beyond their job description I am sure. All I can do now is praise their efforts to make my husband as comfortable as possible in his last days and reassure others that they will be there for you no matter what. The ladies I speak of work for the S2 Stapleford nurses team but I’m sure there are lots of similar teams doing their best in difficult circumstances I can only say thank you ladies ❤️

Firstly please accept our sincere condolences for your loss.

I would like to thank you for taking the time to give us such heartfelt feedback about the 'amazing' care that you experienced. We are very proud of the care that all teams deliver and it is lovely for them to be able to see these kind words and I will ensure that it is shared with them all.

We are always striving to improve services and experiences so thank you once again.
