Elderly mum had a fall at home. This affected her mobility. Rang 111 for advice: they sent a ambulance. Greeted two fantastic crew - Ruby the paramedic and her crew member were fantastic, really compassionate and caring. Mum was admitted to ED. From the moment we arrived, the ED staff were very friendly and attentive, spoke clearly to mum and informed her with every step of treatment.
My only issue is my mum is diabetic and this was documented on triage but I had to “beg” for mum to be given food at lunchtime. I have raised this previously on other admissions but it appears that this is still not resolved. A patient being diabetic should not be ignored. A yogurt eventually arrived, nothing else. I popped to “M&S to go “located in the hospital for some fruit……………. Is this acceptable?
