"No wonder there aren't enough appointments "

About: De Parys Medical Centre

Saw GP regarding historic hypertension X 25 years. Current meds not effective causing side effect. Given a bank of blood tests and a prescription for new drug. New drug turns out to be double the dose of one I had to quit using due to side effects. So that appt wasted. GP then decided as LFT had high markers she'd arrange a liver scan. 4 weeks on, no news. Meanwhile side effects returned with a vengeance. Got a GP return call 5 days later. Apparently should have been taking both old and new drugs .. so double the side effects. After a conversation GP agreed to stop new meds and double existing one. So 2 face to face appointments and 2 GP call backs, back on double the meds I originally wanted off, liver is in question but scan doesn't appear to be happening. Ring surgery today to discover original GP no longer has a clinic and can't take appointments. New prescription never reached pharmacy, earliest I can speak to GP is 3 weeks from now.

The waste of time, resources and appointments is jaw dropping. It's not a new building that's needed, it's better use of existing scant resources.
