12 years ago I bent over & ended up with a bulging disk..by the time I got an x-ray, it was all clear. I had years of sciatica and on/off pain killers since no one knew why I was suffering. Today, 5 Years after a&e, I got a letter asking the gp to send me back to a specialist. 8 years ago, my big toe stopped working. I’ve been laughed at and missed off appointments. I finally got a cortisone injection in my toe & shoe inserts. I was told to just get on with it. A year ago, I started having problems with my knee. Ok, so I did some physio and it ended up worse, with muscle spasms. I went back to a&e and had an x-ray. I was told I have Arthritis. ok, so I got an mri scan and they found a torn meniscus as well. I went back to orthopedic choice after a phone call, because I had waited so long for my appointment and for the staff to read the physio notes. I finally got an appointment. The staff were ok but the letter to my gp was shocking - nothing really that we’d talked about so my doctor asked for a better letter. I was told I was too young to have arthritis by my gp and to just have painkillers. I was told the cortisone would take at least 3 weeks to work so to wait it out.
Another letter was received but this was not a better letter at all. The staff contradict themselves and there was nothing of any arthritis in any letter. So I was just left again to get on with the pain have a pain killer.
I find all of it to be a joke. The staff I have seen can’t seem to decided what’s wrong.
