In 2020 I was diagnosed with bowel cancer. The treatment scans and consultations , although quite scary, were made more acceptable by the kind and caring staff. Miss Beaton managed to get me in for my operation on the last day before lockdown. I have been very lucky as Covid and lockdowns could have prevented my diagnosis and cure, fingers crossed.
It had taken 2 years to bring me to this point and am still adjusting to the bag mentally. My stoma is permanent. The stoma nurses in touch with Colplast Charter who have been marvellous and supplying my bags and extra wipes, travel bags and cut the stoma shape for me. Most recently the stoma nurses have introduced me to another bag more appropriate for my stoma accommodating a start of a hernia. So there are plenty of alternatives should problems arise.
My care has been excellent.
"Excellent care"
