"Child’s visit to dentist"

About: Adult Community Services / community dental care

(as a parent/guardian),

My child has severe ASD, global developmental delay and epilepsy. She has always hated medical appointments. She gets anxious and screams. I was dreading her appointment with the dentist.

We went to visit Dr Rachel at the Arches health and well-being centre.  From the first moment she met my daughter she worked hard to make her welcome and comfortable. During her appointments Dr Rachel was often crawling about the floor and chasing my daughter making it a game in the room. She listened to my concerns and never once made me feel bad about the treatment my daughter needs. I wish every appointment was like this for my daughter.

It is lovely to hear that staff will go the extra mile to ensure patients feel relaxed and welcome, and that you felt listened to and heard. I will make sure this is passed onto Rachel.

warm thanks Norah
