I wish to thank the staff and administration at Wythenshawe hospital for the outstanding level of care and consideration that my mother recieved during the last month of her life.
At the great age of 101 years and 6 months, my mother was admitted to Wythenshawe and spent just over a week in an assessment ward before being transferred to F14 for end-of-life care, where she spent slightly over 3 weeks. In all cases, staff were professional, compassionate, respectful and caring. I do not believe my mother could have received a better level of care anywhere, whether in the private or public sector.
During the past three weeks, I have got to know the staff of F14 ward in particular, as l visited every day. My mother's room was of an excellent standard and was kept extremely clean and well ordered. I would particularly like to thank the staff, both those that l got to know by name and the others who l had less contact with, but were always efficient and friendly.
In particular l would like to mention:
Caroline, Vicky, Stacey and the other cheerful members of the care assistance team;
Twinkle, Sue and Suji the nursing staff in charge of care.
Specialist support provided by Ellie, Becky, Dr Rittski - and Dr Matt (assessment ward).
Thank you all. Thank you for the care, consideration and respect that you showed to my mother on a daily basis as her condition gradually deteriorated. Thank for the time you took to speak to family members when they visited .... thank you for the welcomed cups of tea that you offered.
In her final days, my mother's suffering was alleviated by the medication provided and she ended her days peacefully. Thank you.
