My daughter was referred to the paediatric assessment unit by the GP, as I was struggling to control her temperature and the GP was unsure what was causing the temperature.
On arrival staff were very friendly and professional. It was very difficult for the doctors to assess my daughter as she became very distressed. The doctors and nurses were very kind and patient with her. They also listened to my concerns acted on them and reassured me as a concerned parent. As an adult nurse myself I feel when it comes to your own children all common sense goes out the window. I feel the doctors and nurses appreciated this and offered reassurance. Not only did they provide exceptional care to my daughter but myself also. I was provided with a sandwich and a jug of juice and offered tea and coffee. Even a wee bit of banter thrown in as well which helps lighten the mood when your feeling exhausted and worried. I can appreciate how difficult it has been over the last 2 years for all NHS staff and I feel its very important to let staff know how much I appreciated them. Every single person we came across is an absolute credit to the team. Thank you for your amazing care for my daughter and me.
