"seeing improvements in myself already"

About: Craigavon Area Hospital / 1 North Cardiology

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I received surgery yesterday evening. I got a pacemaker put in. The surgery went very well and I’m seeing improvements in my heart rate already. The pacemaker has stopped my heart rate from dropping very low, which often happened to me, due to my condition. I waited a few days to get the operation, and I didn’t think I could wait any longer and neither did my family. I’m very thankful it’s all over now and I have been just resting as I’m very tired and weak. I’m hoping to get out at the weekend if all goes well. But my time here hasn’t been so bad. The staff have all been providing great care. There was a few issues with the GP not ringing my family when they requested a phone call. But this was sorted thankfully. I haven’t eaten the food today as I have had no appetite, but earlier in the week I tried a few different meals which were lovely.
