"Very impressed with the level of service"

About: Eastbourne District General Hospital

I was referred by my optometrist and I had a call for an appointment to see an ophthalmologist the next morning, I was impressed by the care given, starting from the outpatients reception, initial exam, scan, examination (retinal tear) and then laser treatment soon after. Professional, courteous and caring attitude from all staff involved. They made me feel comfortable, which after hearing my retina had torn, was very welcome.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us such kind feedback about the recent experience of care you received in the Ophthalmology Outpatients service at Eastbourne District General Hospital; we very much appreciate it.

The Trust has continually strived to provide a high standard of care in what has been, and continues to be, extremely busy and challenging times, and so we are delighted to read this was the experience you had. It is also very important to us that patients are treated not only appropriately and professionally but with kindness, compassion, dignity and respect to meet our core values, and we are particularly pleased to read you were made to feel comfortable at what must have been a very worrying time.

We hope you are making a good and comfortable recovery from the laser treatment and are otherwise in good health. We will ensure your feedback is shared with the Ophthalmology team as they will want to read of your gratitude. Take care, and we hope you are keeping safe and well.
